Andy's Story

Life After graduating from Auburn University, started a sales career that evolved into management in a growing Madison, Al business. Married Lorraine Parker and had two children, Matthew and Melanie. Matthew died of brain cancer when he was 8, and our family moved to the northern suburbs of Atlanta where we have lived ever since. Melanie has developed into an accomplished equestrian and competes at the national level. She will start college soon and probably end up at Vanderbilt or possibly the Honors Program at Georgia(yes, the Hope Scholarship via the Lottery and Free tuition is great). She certainly got the brains that skipped my generation. I also still enjoy playing my guitar, and actually sat down for dinner with Jim Croce's wife in San Diego, as well as meeting John Denver a few times. ntry to being very comfortable in the big city. I love walking in Manhattan where my current company's home office is located. I can't imagine having a big yard again that separates me from my neighbors. I love being in a sea of people, whether at an Auburn Football game, in Buckhead, or Venice, Italy. And yes, I love to travel and strike up a conversation with a stranger on a plane, train, or city walk. I'm far more interested in someone who is different from me than like me. Took my daughter to Fiery Gizzard (a hiking wonderland) that we visited often as high school students, and felt great that it brought the same emotions to her that I felt 30 years ago, and still feel today as I walked through the flowing streams and waterfalls that haven't changed a bit. Lorraine Parker and I started dating my senior year(her sophomore year), she became Lorraine Ramey in 1981 and the touch of her hand still gives me tingles.
