It would have been an Honor to have the late Ann Marie Ventriglia still with us (Class of 53' & an intricate part of our St. Anns Parish), the late Msgr Netter, & many of our St. Anns Family members who have passed away attend this Renunion and share with us all their many SAS experiences and stories. We the committee are working feverishly & reaching out to every SAS Family Member From ALL Years...in hopes that those who can attend will bless us with their presence & share their SAS experience with us.
Aneudi Hernandez - My Story
Going into my 20th Year Anniversary (this year 2015), I decided it was time...It was finally time to really put all of my efforts into helping put together the Reunion everyone always talks about when they leave and / or graduate from St. Anns School. I've been hearing former classmates speak about putting together this event for the last two decades and this year after realizing it has really been 20 Years hahaha
(A) since donning a uniform
(B) since seeing my beloved Classmates ALL together in one room, and
(C) since seeing All SAS Faculty with Tears of Joy (whether it was because my classmates and I were Finally Graduating or simply because they knew they no longer had to spend portions of their wages on over the counter migraine medication because of us...nonetheless...there were Tear of Joy lol)...
this year I decided to try my hand in helping to put to...Expand for more
gether SAS's 1st School Reunion.
I recruited one of my Classmates of 95' Jennifer C., 91' Alumni Gilbert F., & 86' Alumni Geraldine J. Together (and with the help of Many Former Students and Teachers) we are trying to assemble ALL Students, Teachers, Administrative Faculty, Priests, Sisters, and whomever else was part of the St. Anns family prior to the official closing of the school in 2003. From the early days of SAS in 1892 to the last days in 2003, SAS has created Bonds between Generations of people from different backgrounds, different cultures, different walks of life...and has united us all in a manner that many of us truly look to each other as more than just classmates, more than just friends, more than just simply having a one year relationship with our teachers or our Students. There's a special adoration that many of us have for each other and of OUR School.
Many of my fondest memories are of being in our small little private school in Rockland County, in Nyack, NY, being in our own little bubble, and in our own little world. I now realize that for many teachers, this was their first stepping stone into their world of teaching. Those teachers & faculty who had to deal with my class (Class of 1995) for the many years prior to us graduating...I'll say this...they truly earned their stripes in the battlefield.
I'll end with this...At this point in my life, This Is NO AMOUNT of money that I would not pay just for me to have ONE (1)...ONE more SAS experience! To be able speak with former SAS students, to hear the many back stories from Teachers & faculty, & to overall share ONE Last moment in time with many of whom I care about but may NEVER cross paths with again in this lifetime...to be able to do so as an Adult...For me would be a Dream Come True!
