Angela's Story
To remember me - you have to have been crazy - or at least tolerable of nutty, crazy people. I pretended to be too good for Columbus folks and spent a lot of my time in Pittsburg and Parsons (later on). Now that I know Pittsburg and Parsons didn't care much for me....I'm okay with Columbus. Especially coming "home" to visit.
I was never the popular person - didn't do clique's - but I never "disliked" anyone and I don't think anyone disliked me. If they did - they never told me so I'll continue to believe that.
Went to school in Parsons at LCC for a bit after h.s. but was not really that turned on about school....until I got married. And thus, this is where I am today.
Life
My husband Alan and I have two kids. A son, Alexander (Alex) who is 14 and a daughter, Austyn, who is 12. Yes, we are all "A's" - and our ranch is aptly named the "4A Ranch." It's not a licensed ranch or anything - we just live on 10 acres in Kurten, Texas (population 244) just outside of College Station, Texas - Home of the Fightin' Texas Aggies - WHOOP!
I am an academic advisor and program coordinator for the Real Estate Masters program at Texas A&M. I received an Associates degree in Business Administration and Mgmt. in 2002 and I am currently (and slowly) working towards my bachelor's in communications here at A&M.
Alan received his Bachelor's here in 1990 - and once we met and got married, he dragged me back - so here we are.
We recently joined a non-denominational church - something I thought I would NEVER do. Growing up a Baptist, one tends to be close minded about things like...oh...religion! Anyway, this church is so much like a Baptist church, that's really wh...Expand for more
at it should be - LOL! We love it though as it doesn't have 8,000 members like our last church.
My kids are VERY active in sports and academics. Alex plays on a competitive soccer team - which Alan coaches and I manage. Austyn swims competitively and next year is going to be playing Tennis. Both kids are active in band - Alex plays the Alto Sax and guitar and Austyn plays percussion. Believe it or not - both kids are in the GIFTED programs at school. Austyn can be academically lazy (can't imagine where she gets it) at times, but Alexander continues to amaze me with his intelligence. Think Tater Pace.....and you'll know what I mean.
I have been actively, and not so actively, working on a historical fiction novel. Historical fiction is a lot of work, because of the research involved...and that whole writing thing.
I was training for a marathon but I don't like running so now I'm training for the arm chair olympics...(that's a joke .... in case no one gets it.) I really was training for a marathon, but again - I don't like running and we don't really have a lot of extra time.
We have two dogs, one of which is about to be shot by me if she doesn't stop running away....one cat....one snake....and one fish. We are hoping to get some cattle soon. What the hell I'm going to do with cows, I have no idea. I guess save time mowing....
Update - have to add that we now have 6 cats...the original one cat is not even a part of that anymore. He was "most likely" taken by Coyotes... We also have two rats....blech! No cows yet because we don't have a fence to keep them in. And, should anyone actually ever read this story....we'll probably never get any!
