Angela's Story

Tell my story, well I really should have graduated in 69 but I skipped so much school I knew I'd never be able to make up my classes w/ a good grade average so I quit, I worked as a waitress for Peterson's Drug store on 7 corners in Mpls.. a big wakeup call because it certainly wasn't as much fun as being in school. Also during that time I left my Mom and was raised by a foster parent. Lots of adjustments for a girl of 15 to make.. I'm very stubborn so I'm sure that was part of my leaving my Mom (obviously we had issues pretty much resolved now) I did go back to school the next yr, much to the schools surprise and graduated on the honor society :) yeah me !!! I had a government grant to go to college but didn't use it because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find my way around the U of M campus LOL.. I did attend the U of M when I was 21 but didn't finish because starting a family was more exciting and important to me :) I was married 16.5yrs and had a daughter and son, I went back to school in my 40s(night classes while working full time) and...Expand for more
was surprised to learn that I still had some brains :) I graduated w/ an associates degree in Advanced Acctng all the classes minus the liberal arts for a CPA but found that for my age the starting pay wasn't enough to pay my mortgage so I never acquired experience in acctng but did get my realtors license.. did that for about 6 mnths and then moved to AZ.. I now work as a mortgage closer/funder.. the person who draws up the documents for signing your mortgage and then auditing the documents before approving the funds for your mortgage. I love the job but it has of course been a tough field to find employment in during these economic times.. would you believe I worked for Bear Stearns :) I loved all the people I worked w/ yes I have been laid of but am currently lucky to be employed, through a temp agency but still employed. So I've lived here in AZ on a little horse property and have made good friends through having a horse. I haven't riddne much lately now that I'm acclimating my puppy to his new home. So that's a little about me.. :) Angie
