Angelo's Story
Life
A lot has happened since Grad (1978) - I have worked at CN Rail in Saskatoon, SK and Winnipeg, MB (from 78 to 94) while attending the U of S (79); elected as Vice-President of Canadian Auto Workers Union (CAW) at CN; worked at CP Rail (Calgary, AB) from 94 to 2002 and since 1999 served as a Federal Public Servant for the Government of Canada. I was elected President of the Professional Institute of the Federal Public Service (PIPSC) Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Branch, National Capital Region (NCR) and Chair, Visible Minority Advisory Council (VMAC) NRCan.
Currently, I live and work in Ottawa, ON for Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Energy Sector in the Oil Sands, Upstream Oil and Gas, Pipelin...Expand for more
es, Electrical Generation, Cement, Fertilizer and General Manufacturing (SK/MB) industry sectors.
I am fortunate to have been given the opportunity to travel across Canada working on politically sensitive issues such as Climate Change, Public Service Renewal and Discrimination (Human Rights) as well as facilitating workshops on Union/Management Consultation Committees, Anti-Harassment and Employment Equity as an employer representative of the federal government.
Small world - Gerry Gilewicz and his family and I are still great friends and I regularly keep in touch with Wally Matkowski and Rick Clark.
I have also managed to connect with Jim Cargill and Yvonne Klusa (a.k.a. Dr. Cargill) in Ottawa, ON.
