After High School, I had to go to work full time, so I worked at Target, Taco Bell and McDonald's for a while, all while going to school part-time. In 1997, I fell ill and couldn't work for a while, so I moved in with my parents for a few months-which turned into 4 years! After doing so, I finished my Associate's in Education at Santa Rosa Junior College, was working full time, and getting ready for my wedding in June of 2001. After getting married, I enrolled at Sonoma State University to finish my Bachelor's in English Lit. I had 2 years left, however, my husband decided to go back to school. So, in May of 2002, we loaded up our belongings and moved to St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Concordia Seminary for 3 years, while I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for Special Education Teachers at a local high school. While being the primary bread winner, I was also attending classes part time at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. By the time my husband's 3 years of seminary were up, I had earned my Bachelor's degree in English Lit and was on my way to a teaching degree. While my husband was attending seminary, we were helping to restart a church downtown, and were expecting to stay in St. Louis, but that didn't happen.
