Anita's Story

Life After getting a B.A. degree in Psychology at Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia, I came back to Kansas City and tried to find a job. I became discouraged when I could not get a job at any of the hospitals. I finally applied at a temporary job agency. The first job they sent me on was at the John Deere office at 85th and Prospect in Kansas City, Missouri. I worked in the mailroom and distribution department until 1975. During that time, I moved to Grandview, Missouri and met and married my husband Alan. He was a machinist in Grandview. We bought a house in Grandview and our first daughter, Laura, was born in 1975. I was a stay at home Mom with Laura and eventually worked part-time as a pre-school teacher. In 1983, our second daughter, Lily, was born. We decided to move to the country and so put our house on the market and started looking for country homes. It took two years, but finally our house in Grandview sold. We rented a house in Lee's Summit for two more years ...Expand for more
while we designed and built our current house. It is an earth contact house on about 20 acres east of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. We have lived here for about 23 years now. Both our daughters are grown now. Laura and her husband live in Mustang, Oklahoma. She works in the corporate offices of Hobby Lobby and designs new stores. Lily is divorced and has a beautiful daughter (15 years old) and a son (12 years old). She and her family live in the Seattle area. I worked part-time in the public library for about 10 years and now sew for people out of my home. I also published a book this year, "But I forgive you, the candymaker who was saved by grace" . Alan and I will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary this summer and are still enjoying life together. Retirement??? Probably in the next year or so, Alan will retire. I am working on a second book and plan to continue sewing for people. Health is good so far, but we are beginning to address blood pressure and diabetic concerns.

Lizzie Lile, thought you'd enjoy these pictures of my friend's granddaughter. I love the "mid-air" pictures. Shows her great form.
My grandkids, Lizzie and Matthew at Mulkiteo State Park.
Open Range Fellowship where the cowboys and cowgirls can ride their horses and the bikers can ride their motorcycles to church. Love worshiping with these people.
What a beautiful song!
Beautiful Wyoming morning sky posted by a friend
This is another view of that beautiful Wyoming sunrise.
The scary thing about this prayer is that to answer it there must be hard times. I have no doubt that we are going to have hard times ahead, but here in America people think hard times are not from God.
