I never guessed that I would retire to Florida, then Georgia and back to Maryland. After a career in geriatric nursing, I switched to association management in 1985 working for the non-profit long-term care association in Maryland and then for the national association, Leading Age in Washington, D.C. I was a VP for Membership and State Relations. My first husband, Glen Geniser, died when I was 32. I never had children. I changed my name legally to my mother's maiden name in 1978. I kept it when I married again in 1982. I ended up in Maryland after marrying Dan Boyle in 1982. Although I met Dan in Minnesota, his job was with the Federal government in Maryland so I left Minnesota after 38 years. I become a weekend stepmother to two teenage girls. They are now in their mid 50s, both single, both massage therapists in Alexandria, Virginia. When Dan retired in 1997, I quit my job and moved with him to Naples, FL.
