Ann's Story
Life
Iv'e come a long way since that Friday the 13th.,1952 graduation day form Bloom. One wenek later I married, and a year later he became a Marine, and our lives changed as we traveled to Fl. , N. C. ,Japan,Virginia, and other places. Met people who are still friends. Wanted to be a singer, and that was accomplished in different churches.Had a family of 3 girls and then 2 boys. Am divorced now, but still live in Fl with 4 of the 5 children near me.Have with me 20 year old great-grand child I have raised since he was 6 months old.Would not change that at all, or any of the rest of my life. Bloom was a good stepping stone to a wonderful life and I enjoyed my years there . I am very happy to say Friday the 13th. was not a bad omen at all,as life has been good to me.Blessed me with 18 grand kids and 1
great-grand, and two honorary great grand. Everyone calls me Grammy and I am proud of that name. Our children are truely our future, and now I am one of the teachers.Hope I can do half as well as some of the teachers I have had. I hope to live a few more years , maybe see some old friends or travel. Went to Ireland last year and hope to see Scotland next.I am never without a dream to help keep me going.I hope my friends from Bloom have been as lucky as me in their lives. I have enjoyed seening some of them at class reunions. I am retired now and in a new phase of life , but I am ready to have a go at it.I have a little Chihuahua named " Bambino " who keeps me company. He weighs only 4 pounds, but can scare anyone off.We live outside city limits where we can have horses, cows, pigs etc. Nice and calm and quiet here.Birds at the feeder all the time . Very relaxing to watch. My best to all Bloom alumni. Long , happy life to all of you. Update,,,,,,, On Dec, 25th,2015. I lost my life partner of 36 years. Some of you met him at the reunions. He was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly by me . my family and many friends. He left a big hole in our hearts as we all love him dearly,I will be staying here in Florida. with children near by.Wo...Expand for more
n?t be the same but life must go on.
My first job was at a drive in, where I got paid 25 cents an hour to carhop. What I remember most about it is I enjoyed it.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
mother was my hero. She raised 5 of us kids alone. We did not have much but we were happy and we knew she loved us
I have learned from my kids that I get smarter as they get older
If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to a charity and church, then spend the rest on my kids, grand and great grands and friends.
My current age is 82 , When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and fragile. I was so completely wrong.
My best friend would tell you I'm talkative, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet.
My wierdest job was working in a factory where they make onion Rings. Smelled like onions by the end of the day , Was a long time before I was able to eat onion rings again
I share my home with a great man and great -grand son, which I find wonderful.
. Very few things have changed with me since I wrote this, but I will miss a few dear friends from Bloom who have since passed on. Maybe Heaven has a Blue and White area ....who knows? My Great - grand son is now a Mc. Donald's employee . My little dog passed Nov, 2. 2015. at the age of 15 years, and my life partner of 36 years.passed on Xmas morning Nothing is the the same now . but my family keeps me going, Still live in the same house but the country part is fast disappearing! Have added several more Great-grand and now have 3 Great-Great Grands. Sure makes you feel good to welcome them to our world⦠.....also makes me realize how my own life grows shorter .So I try to enjoy life and live it while I can. I hope the rest of you are doing the same, and that life is treating you well. To my fellow'52 friends .I hope we meet at the next reunion. Till Then... Hail Bloom High!!
