Ann Marie's Story

Life After high school I went to Berkeley Secretarial School. They placed me at Avis Rent a Car's corporate office which was nice for a short bit but no chance for advancement. So I went over to Mobil Oil's corporate office. Then love strikes. I got married at the age of 20. Had my first child at 22, the second at 23, and the third at 28. At 27, I was moving into our very first house which we built ourselves and I'm still there. Now my oldest is married, she graduated nursing school and is working in a doctor's office in Mt. Kisco as a nurse practitioner, also had a baby boy 4/23/09 and another one on 12/5/11, my first grandchildren, the middle child is a Capt. in the Army and was married on Dec. 20, 2008, he is a doctor for the Army stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY; he has 1 son now and the youngest is working for a machine shop and is engaged to a lovely girl. They live in Cold Spring. The first husband is gone but can't seem to stop giving me grief, when do they just leave you alone? Husband number two is retired but was working for the Treasury Dept. in Washington D.C. I married Steve Drobnak, from Saunders Trade and Technical High School in Yonkers. He left 5 years ...Expand for more
ago - I think it was male menopause. Now he works for Spirit Airlines in Myrtle Beach..... Looks like I'll stay single now. I did manage to squeeze in a two year degree in Paralegal studies though and 6 great years in the New York State Court System until my judge retired. Stinks for me. Now its a wait game until I can jump back in at the right time. I tried waitressing for a very short time, but fell due to someone's negligence and fell flat on my back and now have that to deal with. So my back in messed up as well as the knees and I had second degree burns but the cream from Mary Kay believe it or not worked so well I didn't even have any scarring left over. I'm like a walking advertisement! So I take each day as it comes and see where it takes me. I also worked part time as a paralegal in a small law firm in Hopewell doing mainly matrimonial work. I was laid off from that in April 2009, due to lack of work with the possibility of returning in the fall, but that fell through. For now, I babysit the ever entertaining babies in my life whenever I'm asked! Edwin Newton , and Gregory Michael my grandsons. What else can you do. Hope to hear from you all soon!
