Ann's Story
Life
I live in Griswold now with my partner Sandy, our cat and four dogs. We compete in agility with our dogs, three Jack Russells and a lab mix.
I took the state's "Golden Handshake" back in 2003, retiring at age 53 from the then Department of Mental Retardation. I was a manager for the department for many years, the last few years of my career were spent as the lead manager of the Dempsey Center in Putnam.
Since then I have had a television show on the local public access channel, was chairperson of the committee that built the first dog park in Eastern Connecticut; had gastric by-pass surgery and lost 150lbs; got a part-time job working as a "fake patient" for med students at UConn's School of Medicine in Farmington and traveled to Disney, Italy and Sweden!

I still am involved with the Dept of Developmental Services (new name) and serve on the Human Rights , Program Review and Mortality Review Committees. I recently agreed to become guardian for a woman who lives in Waterford.
My Dad is still living in Putnam...he's 87 now and you still need an appointment to see him! He is VERY BUSY!
I try to be like my Dad...and I'm living my life accordingly.
I don't see many folks from high school. I do email with Kathy Ducharme, Charlotte Dinolt and of course, my cousin Fran Blanchette. I also hear from Donnie Johnston. And Joyce Migneault lives up the road from me in Lisbon and we get together from time to time.
I miss the old gang from school and I'm bummed that we didn't have a 40th reunion. Hopefully, we'll get together soon.
