Annabel's Story
Another update: We moved to Oneonta in June. Keith is teaching anatomy and physiology; I am running a spinning/weaving studio. We have a new dog, a German Shepherd named Roxi. She is quite the handful. We went up to Albany to the L. L. Bean store (!!) and bought snowshoes -- now we're hoping for snow. I love upstate NY; it is beautiful and the people are pretty cool, too.
UPDATE: It looks as if we'll be moving to Oneonta, NY in May or June. Keith is taking a faculty position at Oneonta College. We'll be glad to get out of Kentucky at last! I'm working on a FaceBook profile now.
Wow! Long time no see! Since leaving WJHS I moved away, moved back, went to college (UNO, LSU, University of Arkansas, and University of Kentucky). I got married, got divorced, had two kids (Joey, 21, and Meg, 19), not necessarily in that order.
I liked college so much that I ended up with a BS in zoology, an MS and PhD in animal science (ruminant nutrition and parasitology). Now I'm thinking of working on a BFA. I've gone back to school, to UK where Keith is a professor of animal science (he jus...Expand for more
t wrote a textbook).
I've been taking art studio classes -- weaving, silk painting, and drawing. I took drawing last fall in the same class as my daughter, which was pretty entertaining. I got an A; she got a B, heh, heh.
I live in Winchester, Kentucky with my husband, Keith. He is from Buffalo, NY, and wants to move back there soon.
The kids are on their own, somewhat. Joey is living and working in Lexington, KY and Meg is a sophomore at UK. We keep hoping that Joey will go to college and on to law school, as he is one of the most argumentative people I know! Meg is working on a BFA with a minor in dance.
Keith and I ran a small farm for 12 years,We raised sheep, beef cattle, chickens and had dairy cows and dogs and cats. We sold the farm a couple of years ago to move here. My sister Peggy moved here after Katrina and we wanted to be closer to her.
I learned to spin wool about 10 years ago, and to weave last year. My knitting is always with me. I make all my socks, and Keith's too. Even though we sold the sheep two years ago, I have a cellar full of wool to spin.
