Anne's Story
Workplace
After high school, I went to Cal Poly Pomona and majored in Vet Science, but realized that I was not as motivated as my fellow students. So I went back to school and majored in Botany. For 5 years I worked in wholesale plant nurseries.I also did garden design. At some point I decided I needed a career that would allow me to support myself so I went to Nursing School at S. Merritt Hospital College of Nursing in Oakland, Ca. In 1984 I graduated with a BSN and immediately moved to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona where I started my Nursing career delivering little Navajo babies. I loved it! But romance brought me back to the Bay area in 1986 where I lived for the next 6 years. In 1992 I married Rich Leid...Expand for more
inger and we had 2 kids Sarah, now 12 and Tristan now 11. In 1994 we moved to Maine so Rich could begin his practice as a Urologist. I live in rural Maine on a 25 acre farm with my kids and horses, dogs, cats, ducks, birds, ferretts, etc . I was divorced in 2003 and we share custody of the kids. I worked in the OR for 16 years and have recently decided to back to school for my Masters Degree in Nurse Anesthesia. I am currently working in the ICU of a beautiful Hospital in Bangor, Me.I show my horse Merlin in shows around the Northeast in 3 day eventing and we have a blast! Unfortunately as is frequently the case, my kids are interested in other things and do not share my passion for riding. So there you have it.
