Anne's Story
Life
Always planned to be a college professor, quite probably never getting married. HAH! What a different life I have. Got married before graduating from college; finished up while my husband was in medical school. Started having children in 1978. Alex in Oct 78, Amanda in May 80, and Daniel in Jan 82. Proceeded to spend the next 20 years being a housewife and full time mom. My daughter is now married and expecting her first child. My youngest is now in Scotland, working on his master's in philosophy. I think he might end up as a professor instead of me. Our oldest has very little contact with us. I spend most of my time on-line; the rest of it is spent trying to push myself into exercising and losing weight! All in all, I would do things differently, but I'm happy with the way life has turned out.

I went to the University of Illinois in Champaign. My memories of there are somewhat hazy. It was a time of drugs and confrontations. I loved it, but didn't do that well with my grades...ended up marrying instead. Next school was University of Illinois in Chicago while my husband was in med school, I was also working full time as a medical secretary...thanks to having worked on the school newspaper, I was able to type fast and well. When we moved to Indianapolis for his residency, I went back to school for the almost last time. They had a wonderful program in which you could earn a Bachelor of General Studies. So it only took me 12 years from high school graduation to college graduation. The picture we took was of me in my cap and gown, holding two toddlers (and unknown to me, pregnant with my last one!).
