Anne's Story
Life
Love to talk to old school friends. I am married to Tom Cherry and we have 5 kids: Tommy, Jr., Timmy, Laura, Lisa and Leigh Ann. We also have 8 grandkids, 1 granddaughter and 7 grandsons. We lived in Nashville, TN for approximately 25 years and have returned home to Mobile. Tommy works for Boots Randolph as a musician and still does even though we have moved back home. We do a lot of traveling back and forth. I was a Medical Secretary for 5 doctors. I have retired now and have relocated back home to Mobile. Hope to hear from friends back home. Tom and I have celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary this past June. He is still with Boots Randolph and has been for 25 years. Tom and I would love to hear from classmates.
Updated - May, 2005....we now have a great grandson named Colby. Boy, how time flies when you are having fun. Boots turned 78 last June and is still in great shape and Tom plans to stay with him until he gives it up. Still going strong right now. We would both love to hear from classmates.
Updated - April, 2007.....we do not have any more great grandchildren yet but we are enjoying watching Colby grow up. Boots is now 80 and still going strong. However, Tom has been sick for the past year and has not been able to travel with Boots. He had a heart valve replaced and his left knee replaced and has been out of commission since January, 2006. He turned 71 this past December. He is doing a lot better now though and hopefully will be back on his feet real soon. Looking forward to my 50th class reunion next week.
Updated - July, 2007 - Well, Reunion is over and it was absolutely GREAT. Felt so good seeing friends that you have not seen for YEARS. What a wonderful reunion.
The latest update is, my husband is doing a lot better. Still not walking on his own yet, but won't be long. Also the day after my birthday, Boots Randolph died. He has...Expand for more
never been sick since I have known him. He and his wife was our family in Nashville. He told us one time that he felt as though we were a part of his family and we felt as though they were part of our family. We saw him when we went to Nashville in May. My daughter, who still lives there, had a get together for us at her house in Brentwood, and Boots was there. So glad that she did that because that was the last time that we saw him. Will definitely keep in touch with his family though. He was a GREAT man.
Updated-January 25, 2008 - Well, here it is another year older and deeper in debt. Tom, my husband, has had a setback and is not doing too well at this time. He turned 72 in December. The first of this month, he had a gall bladder attack and had to be operated on to have it removed. The gall bladder was inflamed and had infection in it. It was 4 times the size that it was suppose to be and he really did suffer with it. Doing a lot better now and hopefully will be up and around real soon. Then he has to have another knee replacement. He has had just about everything replaced. I guess you could call him the bionic man. We have now been married 48 years. Hope to be able to celebrate 50.
Updated March - 2009. Sorry it took so long to update but I have been in the twilight zone. Well, we cele-brated our 48th together but we will not make the 50th. My husband has since expired. He expired on August 5, 2008. After being married for 48 years, I kind of got use to having him around. Words can not begin to tell you how much I miss him. Hope I never have to go through that again. It is horrible. Thank goodness for my kids. All five of them. I would not have been able to make it through this if it wasn't for them and my friends. Thank goodness for lifelong friends. I also need to thank my 8 grandkids and also my five year old great grand-son, Colby.
