Annie's Story
Life
After working for Marriott Corp. as a Catering/Retail Manager for 5 years, I pursued another career, stay home mom and own my homebased floral business. Flowers is my passion and why not pursue it further. Year 2000, my husband and my two children who are now 6 & 9 moved to Camano Island living on 6.5 acres. Living in the country gave us an opportunity to have my flower farm. We started our lavender planting in 2002 with 1000 plants and creating/arranging dried floral and other lavender products. wers from bouquets to centerpieces. 2005, we participated in 15 local arts and craft shows, 10 during fall and holdiays. 2006 begin with a great start. Accepted in 2 big shows (Edmonds Arts and Anacortes Arts Festival)plus 17 shows for the year so far. As usual, you can visit me at the Tulip Festival Street Mt Vernon Fair in April 21-23. This summer, we will plant grow additional 600 lavender and other annuals such as sunflowers, zinnias and sweet peas. Aside from my floral business, I homeschool my 2 children and also manage the Camano Commons Market.
