Anthony's Story
Life
"Living loving, loving living, it's all good! I'm loving living, it's all good!" - Will Smith, "It's All Good"
Life seems to be getting better. I still have my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged and it is a BEAST! I changed jobs and am working on my teaching credential now. And, that big dude you see in the picture... he's 50 to 55 pounds lighter now and still working at losing more. I recently got engaged on August 29, 2010.
School
School had its ups and downs for me. I lost my father to cancer in 5th grade when I was 10, and my grandfather to natural causes 4 months before I graduated , who was my second father and always wanted to see me walk. However, he was there. Other than that, I enjoyed school. I loved cracking heads in football, (especially against Covina, South Hills, Glendora and Los Altos!) passing notes in class, cramming for exams, hanging with my friends and experiencing "senioritis." Charter Oak Class of '97, we are in heaven!
College
After graduation, I went to Mt. SAC for three years, got my Associates' in History and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona. I graudated in June ...Expand for more
2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Spanish minor. My Senior Thesis about Cesar Chavez netted me a B-, but I know I gave an A for effort. Tip: Do NOT major in History! I felt like I double majored in English!
Workplace
After countless temp jobs, I settled down at 7-Eleven in Walnut across from Mt. SAC. I was there for six years and a month, but now I am at Jones Reading and Math Clinics and have been there for one year and three months now. I also have been worked as an Instructional Assistant at Rorimer Elementary in the Rowland Unified School District for four months in an effort to build my resume when I seek a teaching position. I transferred to Jellick Elementary for the 2007-08 school year. I stepped down from Bilingual/Biliterate to Bilingual only, but I can still utilize my Biliterate skills. No me importa de que titulo tengo, solo que lo tengo! (I don't care what title I have, as long as I have it!) Then, I moved to Nogales High School for the 2008-09 school year. Once I have my letters of recommendation, I am going to become a substitute teacher, hopefully by the Fall of 2009.
