Tony's Story
Shortly before graduation I began working weekends for a screen printing co that made decals for businesses such as Philips 66, York A/C, Otis Elevator, & Bluebird Bus to name a few. After graduating I was hired full time. I started out as a floater. I worked for the same company off and on until 2006. By the that time I had worked my way up the chain from floater to die-cutter/shear operator, having worked in the print dept, art dept, inspection, metal dept (serial numbering HUD plates) and as a fill in for the Shipping & Receiving clerk. I also made local pick up & deliveries as needed.
In 2005 I had a bicycle accident that broke my right femur. This happened New Years Eve 2004 and I was in hospital until Jan 25,2005. While there I deve...Expand for more
loped breathing problems and according to nurses nearly expired. In April I returned to work, on oxygen and walking with a cane. Just before Thanksgiving one of the big bosses flew down from Massachusetts and held a Co meeting. They were closing our plant in Jan 06.
Upon my Doctors advice I filed for disability. From the accident I’d developed Neuropathy in my legs and had already lost vision in one eye in the early 90s. I finally was granted full disability in 2010.
I inherited Mom & Dad’s place in 2013 and am currently living there, at least until we can get it on the market. It’s just too much for me to keep up with.
I never married and have no children running around lol. My hobbies include Amateur Radio, and collecting antiques.
