Anthony's Story
Don't you wish there was something profound written here?
I know I do.
I hope none of you are looking back too fondly on our school years, or worse, looking back and wishing you were actually back there.
It was fun - for the most part. Hanging out on the ramp at 8 am, lunch time in the guidance office or heading over to the woods. But today is where its at. Your family, your friends, your career, your home or any of the other things in your life that make it special and unique for you. Relish those that are in your face, right there beneath your nose. Our memories are just that. Although I do remember those cool teachers we had - Hershey, Thornhill and Rice. Sounds like a law firm. Sorry Mr. Koogle. (or worse, those other cool ones I neglected to mention)
I don't live in Hagerstown anymore so I don't see any of you - unless you've moved to New Jersey. And hey, let's not kid ourselves, New Jersey is a pretty big state.
I work for a small company located in North Jersey and Manhattan. We help our clients and friends with their tax and financial lives so they can worry less about taxes and finances and focus more on the things they really enjoy - their families and helping the ones the...Expand for more
y care about. How's your financial literacy?
I live in a diverse, urban neigbhorhood and can walk just about any where - from home to work and back, to the store or a client's, or jump on the PATH and head into the City. My kids travel by bus, train or their feet to school and their activities. My wife coaches and teaches at a local university - 10 minutes from home. Our work/life/play neighborhood is about a mile square. How big is your world?
I play by running along the Hudson waterfront and taking in the sights of midtown from the Statute of Liberty to the GW Bridge with the Empire State and Woolworth Buildings towering in between. Or, I head over to the local gym and push around some iron. When I'm lucky on a hot summer day and before the Parkway traffic backs up too much, we head "down the shore" to Manasquan and hang out with friends and family in the sand or at Leggetts. Why is hanging out so much fun?
A Class of '79 reunion will be coming up soon. Perhaps we'll all meet again there. Or better yet, maybe over Thanksgiving at Ron's or out at the Mall. I see my folks and brother every year at that time. Why not you too?
Enjoy all that you have,
Tony
