Anthony's Story
Life
For the first time since my wife's 1998 death, my Daughter, Chelsea and I wnet on a real vacation in 2004. We spent a week in London. We stayed in a hotel in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. On one of our trips in the tube, I noticed a lot of people in team jerseys. (There are jersey sponsors, so the team name is not there.) I motioned to Chelsea to stay on past where we had planned to go. We followed the crowd to a football (soccer) stadium. We did not go in, but like teams here, the team runs a store. So we went into the Chelsea store! Chelsea has the jersey, pens and wristbands with her name on it; I bought a baseball cap. We did the usual tourist bit there, British Museum, British Library, Kensington Park- we sat on the same bench Johnny Depp did in Finding Neverland. Chelsea loved the Peter Pan statue. Westminster Abbey, the Tower, Big Ben, the rosy red cheeks of the little children. . . Thoroughly enjoyed it. As a senior, Chelsea's English class was a lot of literature and history. She actually saw what were pictures in the book. And I kept telling her she should have paid attention on the bus tour!
Well, she graduated in June. She began her freshman year at Temple, in Philadelphia. Since I commuted, I thought it would be better for her if she stayed there.
My daughter is raised, and away at school. For the first time in a long time, I can think of myself. All I need to do is figure out what I want to do!
We lost out cat, Pepper, at the age of 14 to stomach cancer.
I am still the Senior Underwriter in the Federal Housing Administration's Northeast office. We cover 15 states and DC. I have been there 30 years!
