antoinette's Story
Tim and I have moved to our final destination in April 2020. We bought a beautiful home on the top of a mountain in Wallback West Virginia and we are in heaven. We are both retired now, so we wanted a place that was less hectic, life was simpler, people were kinder and more friendly, and someplace where we could LIVE a quiet life. I am no longer the hippie liberal I was in school, I don't like what that tag has turned into for many people I am an intelligent, educated woman, and NOT a lemming following its' pals to their demise. I AM capable of thinking things through and making rational, logical decisions. It is NOT the liberalism I embraced when I was younger! Couldn't stay a hippie forever,I grew to enjoy the finer things in life, such as a roof over my head, food to eat, and a car! I am divorced, sharing my home with the most wonderful man in the world, the mother of 7, and grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 2! Got my college degree at age 60, ending up with a 3.45 GPA. Not too bad for an old gal!
I worked as the cook in a deli (guess my training at Fred...Expand for more
's Cold Cuts on the Ridge made me destined for this career!) of one of the largest grocery chains in the country. Even though I have gotten older, I still feel young. How about the rest of you?
I have gotten in touch with some old friends through classmates and I have enjoyed talking with them. In fact, Tim Smolinski (from class of '70) and I reconnected in 2008, and we are now living in domestic partnership bliss! LOL We keep it quiet and simple, but it is a VERY nice existence! It kind of puts things in perspective when you compare lives. Things have changed a whole lot since we graduated. I don't envy the kids now. Things are so much harder and more confusing, and a lot more pressure than we could have EVER thought about.
All 7 of my kids are alive, and, I guess thriving, so I am hopefully looking for a little more "me" time. They have their own lives to live....time for MOMMA!!!! LOL
We just need to remember our old friends, keep in touch, and enjoy life! You never know when we will need a friend!
Would love to hear from any or all that care to write. Toni
