Antoinette's Story

In the last nine years since high school, I moved to Walker, MN after graduating but prior to starting at the University of North Dakota. I met the man who later became my husband that summer. After spending 2 years driving back and forth between Grand Forks and Walker, then marrying my husband Isaac in August of 2001, I graduated from UND in 2002 with a degree in environmental geography. We then moved back to St. Paul so I could attend law school at the University of St. Thomas. During my second year of law school, my husband was deployed for the first time for nine months to Bosnia. After graduating in 2005, I became a member of the Florida and Minnesota bars. I clerked for tw...Expand for more
o years in Hibbing for trial court judge Mark Starr, which also coincided with my husband's second deployment, this time for 22 months, to Iraq. Our son, Avery, was born during that deployment in March of 2006. After my husband returned, we moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, where I am a criminal defense attorney. We're expecting our second child in March of 2009. I addition to my day job as an attorney, I also teach Jazzercise, a dance fitness program. I'm also a triathlete, competing in both traditional tris and off-road Xterra events. When I'm not working, parenting, teaching or swimming/biking/running, I'm studying and/or doing homework towards my Master's in Public Administration.
