Anton's Story
Life...is boreing
i am doing more trade shows this year than should be leagal. i have done 3 so far, 2 in vegas and 1 in long beach. i have at least 1, possibly 2 more in vegas, possibly one in hawaii but the jury is still out on this one, and one in cancun. needless to say i am traveling a lot. i think disney is a little pissed that i have had to take so much time off for these blased tradeshows.
School
ah, memories. well the instruction say to talk about crushes and stuff... well i did, but I am not saying anything. as for teh funniest happiest and craziest schoold memories... they all pretty much happened at Winston School.
the funniest award goes to Casey Fulton (ace Ventura), and the craziest goes to Russ Waldo.
College
as i said before i finally got the paper thingy...diploma. Now the question is what do i do with it. i already drove to the campus, picked the stupid thing up, framed it and hung it on the wall. here is the funny thing. a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Tech is about as usuful as a paper clip that has been bent out complely straight. the Tech union (IATSE) dosnt recognise diplomas or scholastic accomplishment. they only look at experience. even though i worked continuous...Expand for more
ly in a theatre for the better part of years, they dont count that. so here i sit as a computer network administrator. you know you actually get paid more as a theatre tech than a computer tech? go figure that one out
Workplace
work work work. what else is there to do? well I finally got through all of my disney training. unfortunatly, the parade side of my department had a falling out, in that it is not part of my department now. parades is its own department now. so i am just a shuttle and tram driver back stage now. occationally get special evens and commercial shoots which all aways an interesting experience.
did anyone watch the Disney Christmas special that was supposed to be live on x-mas day... well the florida part was live, the disneyland part was recorded in August. i had a lot of "firsts" on that shoot. the first time seeing Ryan Seacrest (the camera really does add 20lbs, that guy is a stick figure in person) he also rides around in a bullett proof Mercedes. chaufered of course.
it was also the first time i have heard of guest running on and jumping on the parade floats while they were moving down main street. normally guest control handles that stuff. not that day though.
