April's Story
After MV, I went to Davis and got my BAS in Microbiology and Psychology. I went on to get my PhD in Microbiology. I am still at UC Davis working as a lab manager in the same lab where I did my PhD. I continue to study immune responses to HIV infection in the gastrointestinal tract. In particular, I study a rare group of individua...Expand for more
ls who have been infected with HIV, but remain healthy even in the absence of treatment. The hope is that if we can understand what makes these individuals so unique, we can someday develop a vaccine for HIV.
In my spare time I sing with the University Chorus and the Davis Chorale. I also study karate, kobudo and self defense.
