April's Story

Life Life in a nutshell...I married at the age of 19 to a fellow I'd known since I was eleven out of Baltimore, OH area, and had my daughter about a year later. She died a month after her birth due to, as I researched and found out later, complications from my being diabetic. I've worked since the time I graduated and have had jobs in the medical field as an Aide, but did the work of an LPN, Lay-up Artist, Inside Pump sales, and an Administrative Assistant to Architectural/Engineering/Construction Management firms. I've lived in Florida a couple of times due to work, but I now live in Coumbus OH. The Lord has blessed me, and watched over me in my adult years, as I have had serious health issues, which left me blind at one point, but with the proper doctors I can now see with central vision out of one eye. I've had my hip fractured and about 14 other bones broken within the last 15 years, mainly due from the visual impact on my life. I went on dialysis in Jan. 2012 and have been blessed with a new kidney and pancreas in May of 2013. Some of my interests and hobbies are walking, bicycling (but I can't do that any longer), canoeing, hiking and running (which I haven't done in years due to my hip fracture.) I often study homeopathic remedies and do other research when my interest is peaked. I enjoy watching documentaries, ...Expand for more
history, decorating shows, just about anything informative. When I was able, I'd go to garage sales, flea markets, and have wanted many times to stop at estate sales, so I enjoy a bit of antiquing too. I've co-chaired bazaars, sung in choirs, taught Sunday School, been in talent shows and even was asked once to sing solo with a violinist who owns and plays a Stradivarius - what an honor, and it's all been more beneficial to me, I think, than those around me for I've found a wealth of friends. Good things have come from the last move to Florida, I have my vision back, I've been able to see my Aunt again before she passed away at a ripe old age of 96, and another friend who also passed on, and I was here to help my cousin through his battle with cancer, which he lost. I don't know what life will hold for me in the future, I only know that change is inevitable it always is and one has to look for the good around every corner in life. It's time for me to move on, I feel in my bones. I've contemplated beginning a business of my own, but with so many God-given talents, I'm not sure what to consider. I trust the Lord will lead me where He needs me and that's all that matters. And the circle of life continues and it seems the older we get the smaller the world becomes, and it all comes back to met us again where we began.
