April's Story
Life
I'm currently living in Spokane, WA after living in Placentia for 20+ years. My two sons are 19 and 21-so weird to have TWO in college! My sons are 6'8 and 6'4, and tower over me, as you can see from the photo. I am immensely proud of having stayed home to raise my sons- they are the best thing I've ever accomplished in my life. They have turned into wonderful young men.
Until fall 2005, I was teaching 4th grade at Vineyard Christian School in Anaheim and had a floral design business, April Flowers, specializing in weddings and holidays. '07,after 18 months of legal wrangling, I had 4 cervical vertebrae fused together. A car accident has further complicated the healing process. I am now awaiting a second neck fusion surgery, once the legal case is over. I'm not excited to go under the knife again, but I do want to be out of pain, and get on with my life! It's now been 5 1/2 years- time to get back to work!!!!
Now I'm trying to decide where to go from here with my life,as it appears I will not be returning to work, at least for a long time. I'm trying to find other ways to feel "useful", as the classroom is no longer an option. I would love to hear from classmates. Drop me a line any time.
