April's Story
Life Well, here it is July 09' and I'm moving to Pennsylvania..Who would have ever thought I would move 2500 miles away to a small town called Huntingdon, PA in southcentral PA. I had another battle with cancer back in Oct. 08' and now I'm done with all that and have been given a 2nd chance on life so I decided it was time for a change..
I am looking forward to the move as I have been there once before and fell in love with the countryside and the people were so nice to me..I even made a few friends while I was there visiting. My health did so much better back there on the east coast plus I'm just so tired of the heat 110-120 every summer here in Vegas.
UPDATE June 08'
Hello everyone, here it is June 08' and I've been living in Las Vegas, NV now for 3 years..Lots has happened over the last several years..But I have some great news..I'm officially CANCER FREE as of last week..I had another scare as they found another tumor but the biopsy came back benign. I was so thrilled as of now I can get my life back on track, get a job and enjoy things again. I just had to share my good news with my old friend. I am planning on going to the Class Reunion in Pampa, TX in August so I hope to see everyone there. My high school days were some of my greatest memories. We had a lot of fun back then. I'm still in Las Vegas, Nevada, been here nearly 3 years now..
Hi everyone, here it is February 08' and I just wanted to update what I'm up to now. This past year has been a very tough year for me. My health has suffered dramatically..I have had numerous health problems and haven't worked in over a year so as you can see, it's been tough with no income. I have had breast cancer & beat it...but since that, I have had numerous other serious health problems and thought I wasn't going to make it a few times, but with positive thinking & fighting every day, I have now started to see some daylight and hope for the future. I thank my friends who were there for me and encouraged me to think positive. My friends are my family and they are the greatest on this earth. I'm also thankful to God for letting me get through it.

ot working and am in the process of my doctor finally releasing me by March to start looking for a job, so I ask that you keep me in your prayers to succeed and make it again. I am still single after 10 years and it's hard at my age to find someone to date & enjoy life with so the last year has been very lonely & humbling. I have learned to live on nothing but faith. I just wanted to let you know that no matter where you are in life, you will have ups & downs, but you will always make it if you believe in yourself. Always think positive and you'll go far. School
My High School years in Pampa, Texas were my funniest times of school. I made lots of friends and we had a lot of fun...I enjoyed being in the High School band & we went to Dublin, Ireland in 1977 and marched in the St. Patricks Day Parade. This was my first time to ever fly and ever go out of the country. We also went to Atlanta, Georgia, Kansas City, Missouri and small towns around Texas in the band.
My church group at the First Baptist Church there in Pampa, Texas got to do a lot of fun things..We went to Calgary Alberta, Canada, Memphis, Tennessee, Waco, Texas & other places. I made a lot of friends that I still keep in touch with to this day from my years in Pampa. I miss the ones I lost touch with.
College
I went to college at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview,Texas back in 1978-1980, then I moved to Carson City, Nevada where I finished my associate degree in Law Enforcement at Western Nevada Community College and went to the Police Academy in 1983. I then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1997 & went back to college at an extension office of Wayland Baptist University here in NM in Jan. 2004 & will graduate with 2 bachelor degrees in May 2005...I changed my major from Criminal Justice to Occupational Education with a Speciality in Law Enforcement & a Psychology degree...I am glad that I have gone back to school..It is very rewarding..
Workplace
I have worked in Law Enforcement since I was 17 years old in various fields...Police Officer 20 years plus, armored truck driver, armed guard, security officer at a Gold Mine, so as you can see my life has been interesting...Never a dull moment in my career.
