Arlene's Story

Life I was born and raised in Eureka and lived here continuously. I graduated from Humboldt State and ended up with a career in Personnel with California Division of Highways/Caltrans, retiring in 2001. I married Bill in 1960 and have one son, John, who is now a software engineer in San Diego. My husband retired from Arcata Redwood in 1999 after a 40 year career there. travelling and visiting family. I am very interested in local history and belong to several organizations. I am a permanent board member of the Humboldt Co. Historical Society and the regional vice president representing Humboldt and Del Norte Counties for the Conference of California Historical Societies, which is an umbrella group for historical and genealogical societies, museums, etc. We are busier than ever.
