Armando's Story

Hmm . . . where to start? After high school I worked at State Farm Insurance in Salem for 2 years and then moved to the Seattle area in 1977 to go to Bible College and I've been here since. After 2 years in college I married and we had a daughter who will be 30 this year. As some times happens the marriage ended after 25+ years and as difficult as that was, life has gone on for me and I can honestly say that at this point and time, life for me is good. Aside from work (which I try really hard not to dwell on unless I absolutely have to) most of my time is spent doing most anything that will get me into the outdoors. I enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, backpacking and climbing (though I've pretty much left the mountain climbing thing those much younger than me), canoeing and sometimes just sitting on the beach and watching the sunset. I tend to play too much softball ...Expand for more
(both mens and coed divisions) and I haven't yet been able to figure out if the players are getting younger or if I'm just getting older. Actually, I have figured it out, I'm just not ready to admit it yet. I also enjoy watching and listening to the Seattle Mariners play baseball. My biggest passion in life though is my family, which comprises my daughter and son in law and my two grand kids (ages 5 & 3). They are the force in my life that keeps me both young at heart and young in spirit. I'm fortunate to live close enough to them that I can see them a couple of times a week, though I try hard not to intrude too much into their lives. That's pretty much my life in a nutshell (without going into all the details). It hasn't been what I envisioned it would be back when I was 17 and thought I knew it all, but as I said before . . . at this point and time, my life is good.
