Arthur's Story
After Duncan U Fletcher Sr High I had a blast at Florida State University where Bobby Bowden and I beat Gators for all 4 years. (Bobby doesn't know it but I was in the stands helping him call plays. I had the benefit of beer.) After a brief adolescent brain failure, I thought I wanted to become a lawyer. After 1 academic quarter, FSU thought I shouldn¿t even be a student. I re-applied myself as a Film Production student in the Communications department and graduated with honors. I also launched my career in Tallahassee working as a cameraman and documentary director. 30 years later I have been in front of 2 presidents with a news camera, won an national Emmy for editing in the 1986 Goodwill Games (Moscow, USSR). I have worked for Disney, Sony Imageworks, Industrial Light and Magic, Universal Studios and Turner Broadcasting and I have owned my own business. I have worked on 9 major motion pictures including "The Matr...Expand for more
ix" in 1999. I currently work for Turner in Atlanta GA, as the VP of Visual Effects.
While at FSU in the '70's I met Pauline Conradt. We were young, thin, and very much in love. Today....we are very much in love. We have 4 wonderful boys ages 21, 17, 14, and 11. My oldest graduates from FSU in May and my second son starts at University of Georgia in September. My family is my life.
In all my experiences, I have never forgotten what a special place we grew up in. Sunrise and sunset at the Atl. Bch pier, fresh seafood from Mayport, football in purple uniforms and surfing for PE at school are as fresh in my mind as if it happened last week. We can only hope our children have a fraction of the life we lived as kids at the Jax beaches.
I have just gotten serious about updating this profile so I will try to add to it from time to time. Please excuse any grammer and spelling errors. I went to a Florida public school. ;-)
