Arthur's Story
I am a retired public school music teacher who taught 39 years in schools in New Jersey and New York. The main instrument that I play is the piano and I own a Steinway grand piano. I can play from memory the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto number 2. I also own and play the tuba. I was involved as president or treasurer of several local teachers associations, and a delegate to the National Education Association (3 years), New York State Teachers Association (10 years), and the New York State Teachers Retirement System (3 years). I was secretary of the Portuguese Civic Association of New York State (20 years) and the Portuguese American Club of Mount Vernon NY (20 years). a small farm in Portugal. I have travelled to Portugal about 24 times and to Brazil 6 times, to visit my relatives. I have also travelled to every state, except Alaska and Hawaii, and I have been to most of the countries of Europe, to Canada and Mexico. I am an ordained Elder and an ordained Deacon of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). I am listed in "Who's Who in America," "Who's Who in American Education," and "Who's Who in the World." I wrote a published book, "A Speck of Dust" and my second book, "A Speck of Dust 2," is in the process of being published. I have also published, on the internet, 24 musical compositions for concert band, piano, and vocal.
