Arthur's Story
My family move to Pomona in 1948 from Buffalo, New York, and I went into the 9th Grade at Emerson. I do no recall much about PHS excep that I was in Drafting class for 3 years. Also the Science Math Club , took Physics class. At Mt. Sac I was in Areonautics Porgram and got my FAA Engine Mechanic's License. The on to San Jose State into the Aero Maintenance Engineer Program, and received my Airframe Mechanic license. Enlisted in the Army over the draft, and met my wife in Ohio. Deployed to Munich with a Helicopter unit for end of the Occupation. Have 2 daughters (one married) and no grand Children. Worked in Aero-Space as an airline mechanic (2 yr. LA Airways), and Quality Engineer until 2001. We have volunteered as a Campground Host, and I with the Quality Society (Cert Chai...Expand for more
r for ASQ-Seattle section). We also have Square and Round Danced since 1976.
Retired from Boeing in 2001. Did one trip to Arizona, Anaheim, & twice across country visiting friends and relatives, incliding Sq Dance National in Charolette NC in our RV. We were gone about 3 months each trip east. Volunteered for 4-10 weeks ea. of the 9 years as a Campground Host,
We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a 7 day Western Medaterian, plus 14 day (crossing)Barcelona to Gavelston. We were in Barcelona for 2 days ahead of the cruise. There were 340 in the group.
I have also mavaged to loose and keep off 65-70 pounds from high school. Now I attend a Senior Sneakers Exercise class 3 days per week, and round dance every week, and SQ Dance 1-2 days a week in season.
