Aurie Mitchell Haithcox:  

Life Attended Dobbins from 1962 and was in the last January graduating class in January 1965. I enjoyed my high school years, my friends and my experience as a Cheerleader. Currently,I reside in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, have an adult son and work in Dresher, PA. My Dobbins experience was a memorable one, and I look forward to keeping in touch with other Dobbins alumni. I married for the second time in April 2007 so my new name is Aurie Haithcox. School I attended Stanton Elementary school in North Philly until second grade. Due to redistricting I transfered to Pratt Arnold at 22nd & Diamond and graduated from 6th grade there. My junior high school was Gillespie in Tioga and I went to Gratz for a half a semester because Gillespie was overcrowded. My high school years were spent at Dobbins Vocational Technical High (that is what it was called at that time) and graduated in the last January graduating class in January 1965. It was a good time although a lot was going on in the world. There was the civil rights movement with leaders like Martin Luther King. There was Vietnam, Motown and the Beatles. I especially loved my experience as a Cheerleader and attending the football and basketball games. The parties outside of school were really good too with the dim lights in the basements (smiles).
