Austin's Story

After graduation in June of 55 I spent a long summer in Osaka with little interaction due to school being out. I returned to the States and began work at North American Aviation in El Segundo, CA. as a Turrent Lathe operator. I enrolled in College at El Camino Jr. College in Gardena, Ca. In September of 1956 I re-joined my parents when they returned from Japan. They were stationed at Fort Tilden in NY. I Joined the Army in Jan of 57 from there and completed basic training at Ft Dix, N.J. Moved to Ft Bliss in El Paso, Tx and attended Nike Ajax Radar School for 54 weeks. I remained there until Jan of 60 completing my 3 year enlistment. I returned to Torrance, C.A. a married man. I was determined to complete college so attended nights whenever possible. r tech in 1962 and moved to Palmdale, CA until 1969. I relocated to the L.A. area and became a RE Broker. My education continued until I graduated with a BA from Loyola Marymount University in 1977. I had 2 nearly grown sons at that time . I returned to civil service work at the SBA in 1978. I divorced my first wife after 19 years of marriage and moved to Santa Monica, CA, After a year of bachelor life I met and married my current wife. We celebrated our 31st year of marriage in 2010. I obtained my MBA in 1980 and began working at the Defense department department from which I retired in 1994. I became a private pilot at age 53 and continue to fly to this day. My wife and I moved to Gardnerville, NV in 1999 and enjoy a pleasant but active life at this time.
