Austin's Story

Life After graduating I joined the Navy, where I served for two years, then was discharged, and decided to reside in California. There I took several jobs as an electromechanical assembler. I attended a trade school, and received a degree as a computer laboratory technician. I currently have my own business, as an independant computer networking consultant. I am currently a customer support representative for a major shipping company. I married a beautiful woman in 1995, but unfortunately divorce in 2004. We have a wonderful son, who so far has been earning straight A's in school, unlike his father. He actually does his homework. Military My military service was not one to inspir...Expand for more
e many books. It was abnormally brief at my request, and I have no desire to repeat it. While there are many good people in the military, there was no room for people who had better ideas on how to do things. They have since modified procedures so that changes are much easier to implement. I went to Basic Electricity and Electronics in Orlando, and due to a personality conflict with my learning center instructor, had my course shortened. I was sent to a ship in Bremerton, Washington as a Boatswains Mate where I served for 18 months. I was able to go on a WestPac tour, and visited Japan, Thailand, Korea, and the Philippines. I was dischared in May of 87, and have not looked back since.
