Ava's Story

Life I was the middle daughter of Mildred and Morris Rosen, born in Toronto, Ontario. We moved to Miami in 1957. After graduating from FSU, I moved to Pensacola. Got married in 1969, we have a son (Robert, 1971) and a daughter (Penny 1974). They are both married, and we have seven grandchildren. I had retired 16 years ago, and play golf and travel in the motor home. I also play volleyball and pickleball, and dabble in video editing and genealogy. I wrote and published a book on our family history. Go to Amazon.com and search my name. My husband passed away in August, 2009 from leukemia. We were married almost 40 years. otor home in December, 2010 and travel extensively. College My friend and I wrote on the freshly cemented sidewalk on Landis Green. I wrote, "Ava was here". Twenty-two years later, it was still there when we took our son up to FSU for freshman orientation. Workplace I taught 14 years at Woodham High School. There, I met my husband. I coached Volleyball, basketball, softball, gymnastics, track, and also at one time sponsored cheerleaders and the GAA. I taught 12 years at Ferry Pass Middle School, and was teacher of the year my last year there. My final four years were at Pine Meadow Elementary, where I also helped with closed circuit TV. I retired after teaching physical education for 30 years.

TBT. Larry and I were Camping at Cedars of Lebanon State Park, and visiting classmates in Murfreesboro. This was probably taken around 10 years ago, as I am wearing a beaded necklace made by my granddaughter.
Tonight, I'm
Sweet Home Alabama.
Yesterday's drive through Birmingham was very lengthy, to say the least. It took about four hours to drive 20 miles. We got to Gunter Hill Campground around four, and we had some happy campers.
Princess Coconut is out for another stroll this afternoon. Her big brother would rather walk.
What to do on a rainy day...Go shopping with the babies.
This is almost our whole group, including Ernestine, who fried chicken and made apple pies with pears.
Lon and Mary were celebrating their anniversary.
Larry and Dot trying to help Roy fix his camper.
Penny Rich Trivette cruising on Okenfenokee.
You can actually see the rectangular patch around the blue area where he buffed it. The right side is shiny, but the left side had a problem with the wet paint.
Aha! They said it couldn't be done. But I, single-handedly, removed the 6' x 20" hood, and squeezed it in to my car. I am pretty sure that I will need help putting it back on. Hoping that Penny can help.
The invisible bra, if not removed, will leave marks that will eventually rust the entire area.
Think I need a new tarp??
I better not try 60 mph with this make-shift hood. (No, it's not a red-neck hood!)
I know it's not Thursday (TBT), but I was so excited when my mother's cousin sent this to us. This photo is over 125 years old! My grandfather (Jack Sandy) is the three-year old in what looks to me like golf knickers. Hi
