Bambi's Story
High school years were times of quiet desperation, severe depression, suicide attempts, and blending into the background, like the paint on a wall that is there, but no one notices. Luckily for me, I found someone who would stand by me, stay with me through it all, and finally give meaning to my existence. Life since graduation has been marriage, having two children and one miscarriage, and trying to get better. I have touched base with a couple of former classmates, at times to my detriment. About 1995, life started coming together for me, the depression is under control and my husband is still with me despite years of less than pleasant lives. Now, our two children are grown, we have six grandchildren, ages six to seventeen (as of 3/2008). Life is good!
8/7/2018--Still married. Children almost fifty years old! Grandchildren grown, only one left in high school as a senior. Oldest grandson just got married, first to do so. Finally discovered who my biological father is, solving a six plus decade mystery. Now officially the eldest of fourteen. My dear husband had his third stroke in July but doing well, all things...Expand for more
considered. Am the cat lady of our cul-de-sac with twelve inside cats and anywhere up to two dozen of God's feral cats outside I care for on a daily basis. And life goes on!
12/30/2023-----Still hanging in there. Still married to Robert, who has had three strokes and a career ending heart attack. Still taking care of cats. Working with a foundation to tame and socialize feral kittens so they can find homes. Both are kids are over 50 years old and the eldest grandchild is 33 years old now with the other five ranging down to 22 years of age. How did they all get so old? My mind tells me that I'm not old enough for their ages but my body begs to differ! I often wonder about my former classmates, how they are doing, how life us treating them. In the past few years, I have been in sporadic contact with one of my favorite people, one of my best friends in high school, David A. J. (Anthony Joseph) McGlone. I wonder how many remember him. My biological father passed without ever getting to know me, his grandchildren or great grandchildren. I still keep in touch with his sister (my aunt) and his eldest son (my little brother).
