Barbara's Story
I lived in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, from birth until sometime in 1993. I lived in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, for a short period for "I'm not sure why". I have lived in Middlebury, Indiana, since March, 1995.
Miss Smith was my first grade teacher at Fort Allen Elementary and I remember her taking me to McDonald's and helping me read. She was so nice and I would love to hear from her.
Mr. Stratton was my 6th grade teacher at Fort Allen Elementary and I will always remember him saying, "No question is ever stupid". I did see him again when he was principal at Fort Allen while my daughter attended the school.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. Due to my financial responsibilities to my family, I worked as a legal secretary in Greensburg, PA, for around 10 years. I then worked at Schult/Crest Homes in Middlebury, IN, for 7 years in many departments (purchasing & accounting). I got laid off from Patrick Industries (Elkhart, IN) after 8 years due to the manufacturing downturn. I was a computer operator, documen...Expand for more
tation specialist and software trainer. I am currently unemployed and will begin school in the fall to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Dreams can come true!!!
I have been married three times, but only divorced twice. I think that was God's plan for me.
My favorite way to relax is a cup of Oh! My Chai! made by my husband and a quiet evening at home. Sometimes I really need some Vodka or a shot of Hot Damn. Totally depends on the reason for relaxing.
My first real crush was with my brother's best friend, Matt. We played cops/robbers and strip poker. My first real kiss was with Kevin (he also gave me my first ring). I went to my first dance with Scott who gave me my first album as a gift (Captain & Tennille - Muskrat Love). My first high school crush was Steve, but he turned out to be one of those not so nice boys.
No matter all the struggles in my life, I would never go back and change one little thing. If I did, I may not have my children and my husband, Tim. That is something I would never risk.
