Barb's Story
Life
I am now living in East Rochester, NY with my 20 year old daughter. I am separated from my husband and seeking employment. I have a 23 year old son who lives with his father. Much as I love pets, I have none due to my apartment agreement. I am still very active in Girl Scouts. It is still my saving glory. I attended the national convention in Atlanta last October. My camping has slowed down due to my physical conditions, but I do get some camping in from time to time.Most of travel is to visit relatives and chaperone Girl Scouts. history. My cousin is a geneology buff and wanted the younger and new family members to learn of their ancestory. One highlight of the caravan was seeing potatoes growing on the old farm. My grandfather was a potato farmer and "Potato King" of the USA in 1937. The sad part was seeing many of the buildings gone as well as the antique flowers my greatgrandmother grew for sale. Times change and we all move on. As for my educational pursuits, I attended Corning Commuity College then Geneseo State. I got my Masters in education from Elmira College. I taught in Pavilion for 10 years and then worked at our church's preschool for 16 years. I am now retired from teaching.
