Barbara's Story
Life is a roller coaster, and you never know what's around the next turn.
After school I attended MCC off and on. In 1989 moved to Jacksonville, FL with my family, went back to school for a little while. Married in 1992, (re-singleized in 2001 - yes, I'm making up my own word) and Stephen was born in 1993. Moved back up to NY in 1994 as I decided Jacksonville was not the type of place I wanted to raise a family, Matthew was born in 1995.
I entered into the mortgage industry in 1995 as a result of a conversation with an old high school friend at McGhann's on St. Patrick's Day (you know who you are, lol). Began what appeared to be a life long career with a company in 1997, traveled a lot for business, and in 2003 was offered (and accepted) a Supervisor position in their Corporate Operations located in Orange County, CA.
In 2006 the roller coaster began with the shuttering of all our sales offices, resulting in the closing of our division. Since then I have been with 2 other companies, the first of which closed in 2007 and the second which closed the division I was hired in to in 2007 as well.

he industry I was in (Google 'mortgage implode') I'm ready to take a new path in my life, and will be returning to NY permanently at the end of April.
Stephen is 15 now - scarey when I think back to what I was up to at 15, but it looks like I've done ok. He's goalie for his High School JV Lacrosse team, is very involved with the Youth Ministry at our church, volunteering every weekend babysitting during mass, and with the Orange County Sheriff's program to stop sales of tobacco & alcohol to minors. Now, if you knew me in high school...stop laughing and wipe the tears from your face - like I said, it looks like I've done ok where my kids are concerned.
Matthew is 13 now, officially making me the mother of 2 teenage boys (insert insane scream here), he's very into skateboarding & airsofting, and is an Honor Roll student. This is a first for my kids, so forgive me for being boastful but I could not be more proud...I'd even have a bumper sticker, but his school doesn't have them, lol.
It's been great reconnecting with old friends and acquaintances on here, so I'd love to hear from you or know that you stopped by to say hi.
