Barbara's Story
Though I was purported to be confident, etc, the truth is, much development was required, I grew up late,.. So my personal career path really began only about 20 years ago.. Without taking you through the the real growing pains, I'll just skip to these current years. I now an a successful, restaurateur, entrepreneur, for 21years; owning a string of restaurants, throughout the country.By the way, the restaurants are my first and primary 'gig', in conjunction with, and, or, after that a national speaker, voice over actor, real estate developer, Yeah, I finally buckled down after working in corporate america for years making it happen for others, so I thought I would to make it happen for me. These years of building business have been tough, mean and rewarding,. and I am not even finished... I work daily, starting my day about 7am until. working out or trying to avoid the work out, and then off. I love daily challenges, and boy do I have them.. I can remember waking up daily with fear about what could happen. Now I wake up , maybe sometimes with fear, but gratitude replaces all fears .I am blessed to have a son, Victor, who is my executive right hand, and by the way, he and his wife just had their first child, (3months old), her name i...Expand for more
s Victoria. Yep, my first and only grandchild...She will call me Babu' ....Anyway, I really call myself a visionary, I create, which is something I thought I never had any skill nor talent. I now am working on a book and a ladies/children line (can't say what product yet) to go into dept stores.
Oh, I didn't mention my social life...it rocks, that is," rock" that bed early..Have too, to keep up. I have a wonderful companion who is just as cooky and busy as I, but we don't and probably can't live together., energy ions too high. But I really perform life better somewhat solo, afterall I have experienced that great institution of matrimony. (smile)
All this may sound glitzy, trust me there has been sorrow, pain and tragedy, not to mention sacrafice...No. I have Not arrived, there is No arrival only a continued journey.. And truly without God I did and can do nothing So this is me in a nut shell..Still on the battlefield, on the road, I refuse to pull over.. And in writing this I continue to realize my blessings as they always seem so hidden amongst life's Stuff. So my motto is;"Pray Great Big Prayers and LIve A Great Big Life".
I look forward to seeing those who attend our class reunion.
Warm regards to all,
I remain, Barbara J Burrell
