Barbara Carr:  

I served in the Women's Army Corps for just over three years soon after graduating. My last duty station was Ft Jackson, in Columbia SC where I ended up living for thirty years. I trained in the medical laboratory field and worked as a medical technologist for my entire career. Wether working at the bench or in management, I enjoyed every position I held. In 2003 I moved back to NJ to take a position at Temple University in Philadelphia. I had to retire in 2011 due to an accident where I shattered my right shoulder. It took many years to recover from that. Then on the heels of that I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. I finished my radiation and chemotherapy five years ago. Knock on wood, I was given an all clear just last month. I have been so fortunate to have been back in NJ so I had lots of support during these times from my sisters, Marlene and Laura.
