Barbara's Story
We bought a house in Humble, Texas in 2010, We're near my sister and youngest son. We're about 15 minutes from each.
I have been married 39 years in June to Dan Bonomini.
I worked for 4 Fortune 100's and several other jobs then we moved to Cincinnati, OH and I worked at Cincinnati Public Schools for 15 years and retired early to move to Texas.
Married a Cincy boy have two Handsome, very bright boys ages now 34 and 35. and have a Grandson and 3 Granddaughters. I have been a Cub Scout Pack Leader, Tee-Ball coach, PTA VP and raised 2 stepsons who were both killed in a car accident in 1998. I did the sports mom thing and once had the whole high school baseball team for a spaghetti dinner and sleep over. That was interesting and I never ever want to make that many pancakes again. Have also been a band mom (the cool kind of marching band) and they are one of the top 10 things to see in Cincinnati. Living each day to the fullest. I do genealogy (which I'm very good at) in my spare time, what little there is. I was hoping to get back to Chicago area after my kids settle down, but now my plans have changed and we're in the burbs of Houston, TX.
The one do-over that I would do is not gain all these extra pounds (thanks Hypothyroidism). I'm not as skinny as I used to be.
Wish I could remember who my first crush was. Or.........maybe it's a secret.
My biggest surprise is that I had a heart attack when I was 49.
I am also still surprised that I didn't marry young. I waited til I was 30.
I love Baseball and my Cubbies, the Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears, US history, Genealogy, Black Labs, traveling, photographing my grandkids and Chocolate, which I can no longer indulge in (but sometimes I have to cheat)
I've learned I had less patience than I thought I would have, but am starting to gain it back.
Also, you really can do anything you want to when you grow up. Just hope I grow up someday and find out what it is.
I would love to see Chip Wulff again, but alas, that's impossible.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 15% of it to both Cancer research and Heart research, 15% on special needs children, then spend the rest on my kids and grandkids education, day to day life and travel alot. Invest, invest, invest! I would also quit and volunteer with special needs children.
My current age is 67. When I was 12, I was 4 years away from losing my eldest Grandmother who I am almost as old as when she died.
I have worked since I was 16, now I want to garden, cook and enjoy life a little. Maybe travel to Italy, Spain, Ireland and Scotland and a few other places to see some of my friends and family.

e too outgoing, but, I am guarded. I have alot of friends and & I am a very friendly person. I am interesting and interested.
I try to be current with styles and get miffed when I see my husband not up to date. He is slowly improving.
The weirdest job I ever had was meat wrapper at Dominick's YUK and call center operator at Cokesbury Books (That one totally sucked!)
In 10 years, I hope to be totally retired. I'm going to get there by saving lots of money. Well, maybe 15 years.
My oldest friend lived down the street from me. We met while I was 10 and she was 9. We are still great friends. My next oldest friend and I met when we were in 7th grade. We still talk often.
I have just reunited with an old friend from Kindergarten.
I have lived in Illinois, Arkansas, Ohio and Texas. The first time I moved away, was because my husband was injured on the job and had to have alot of therapy and I had 2 very young babies, so we moved in with my Mom and Dad. The 2nd time (OH) was to try to get custody of my stepchildren who's mom was abusing them. Ohio is very irresponsible and only cares about the mother's rights. If they had given us custody, my stepkids would not have been in an accident and died trying to get home to us.
The wildest thing I did in H.S. was I ran away for several weeks. Can't tell you the rest, but it was interesting, fun and scary at times. I hope my old friends remember me as trying to always be a nice person with an open heart and mind. I know they all are that way.
My first job was at Bob's Big Boy, where I got paid 1.33 hr + tips. What I remember most about it is all my friends came there and lots ran out on their checks. But they all tipped better than people do nowadays. I worked there almost 2 years. I probably waited on you if you went there!
I'll never forget sitting in class watching the Astronauts walk on the Moon, or the newscast of Kennedy getting shot. They came into our class and turned it on right after it happened. They would never do that now, they would have to get parental consent first. The other thing I won't forget is how we were paraded in front of the boys in our very ugly gym uniforms, we were all so embarrassed.
I share my home with my husband, who I find annoying, and my young Lab puppy who I also find annoying. She bites my ankles all the time and barks constantly, especially when I'm on the phone.
The only trophy I ever won was for most improved female bowler, because I actually drank too much Rum and bowled a perfect game, so they had to give it to me. This was actually when I was 20.
I would like to relax and write a children's book or 2. Go to the beach more, eat breakfast on a patio and dinner watching the sun set more often. I would like to line my garden with seashells.
