Barbara's Story
Life
For a few short years after high school graduation, I floated around central Illinois, going in every direction but "UP". With no real future in sight, I decided to join the military and chose the USMC. Since then, I've lived in South Carolina (where I had my twins in 1983), California, and Texas. I got an honorable discharge in 1988, and eventually found myself back in Illinois. I settled in Paxton, IL, where I spent much of my time raising my kids. They're all grown-up, now, and I couldn't be any prouder of them! Became a grandma April 2004 & 2006, and are expecting another in Sep 2006! I worked full-time for Kraft Foods in Champaign until May of 2006. I'd been there since 1989. The only reason I worked there for so long is because I'd grown accustom to a lifestyle that affords such luxuries such as food, shelter, and clothing. I now have a life in Champaign and work for WCIA/WCFN TV.
