Barbara's Story
When my father retired from the Army in 1968, we returned to our hometown in Pennsylvania. I graduated High School in 1970, married and had three children. My husband is now retired, I am still working. Our children are all married and own their own. We have 6 grandchildren at present.
I attend our Community College, still taking classes from time to time. I haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up. Subjects include Political Science classes, cabinetry and psychology.
I have worked for the PA House of Representatives for 30 years and have another 5 to go till retirement.
I love to kayak and go on several trips through out the summer months on various waterways in Pennsylvania. Sometimes we take the kayaks on our camping trips if we are going to a lake...Expand for more

We have a small hobby farm and raise Couchin Chickens. We also have geese, swans, ducks and peafowl. Other pets include a beagle, bloodhound, 2 cats, a pet skunk and a pet raccoon.
11/24/2013 - update. I have since retired, it will be a year in December. We now have 8 grandchildren ranging in age from 2-16. Still camping and kayaking. I have been Irish dancing for the past 5 years and now have added piano lessons. None of which I do very well, but have a lot of fun trying.
Still have geese and swans. Down to the beagle, 2 cats and the raccoon. Since I have retired John and I have been doing a lot more camping. We are planning a big trip in the fall of 2014 to Santa Fe. We will be meeting Linda Blakemore Owen and her husband for a week in Santa Fe.
