Barbara's Story
Well back in highschool I was very shy and didnt talk much to people I dont think many people even thought much of me.. I was having problems at home and ended up dropping out of school at a young age. I got married and had a baby at 17 yrs of age . Ended up staying married for almost 6 years and had three children with this man. Got divorced while I was pregnant with my third. Ended up getting married again right away to a man who was an alcoholic. That didnt last long at all... Then after being on my own for a few years I met a man who I fell deeply in love with. That was back in 1991 July 26th to be exact.. We ended up getting married on August 28th, 1993 in Virginia Beach, VA.. nd of this year I moved out. Then I hurt my back at work and been on LNI for the past couple months .. Was having difficulty making it on my own with a six year old so moved back in a few weeks ago with my husband. Not sure where things will go from this point on but whatever happens happens...
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right. But now my oldest daughter is a teacher and doing great at it.
My first job was at Martha and Mary Nursing Home, where I got paid 6.00 an hour to take care of older folks. What I remember most about it is When my first patient died on me.. OLAF Thorsen.. Still remember his name..... I guess thats my life in a nutshell....
