Barbara's Story
Life
Currently I'm living just north of Seattle, in Lynnwood,
Washington. It's a very nice community. I've been in Washington since 1981. Moved here with my two sons, Alex and Elliott, when I got divorced. Alex and his wife, Kim, live fairly close to me. Elliott is currently staying with them for a few months. He will be finishing his master's program at Antioch University soon.
I'm retired now. Did a variety of types of jobs. Worked as the bookkeeper in our family's business for the first 6 years I was here. Then went back to college. Worked in accounting for several years. Discovered that was not where I wanted to be. My last position was as a reservationist for Princess Cruise...Expand for more
s. Loved it. Unfortunately, had to retire on a permanent disability after having back surgery. (Should've gotten a second opionion).
As I mentioned, currently I'm living in Lynnwood. My roommate is my 9 year old Siamese/mix cat, Twinkie. She's quite a character. Even after 5 years of retirement she still thinks I should get up and feed her at 5 am!! She has me well trained. lol
Been keeping busy with a variety of outside activities. I'm very active in my church, St Alban's Episcopal in Edmonds, WA Also do a lot of walking and reading. Participated in the Diabetes Walk this year. Enjoy doing things like that.
