Barbara's Story
Life
After a lot of years and four kids, I finally caught my high school sweetheart, Steve Rosellini (class of 1972) and we were married July 2000. Now we have a total of six kids and 10 grandkids. I am a retired medical transcriptionist. Loved working for the VA from home for 30+ years. Three of my kids graduated from good ol' JFK, and the other from Irvington. We moved my parents into a brand new addition to our home in July 2007 to care for them. On 2/2/09 we lost my dad at the age of 98. Just 18 months later, on 7/14/10 my mom joined him... I cared for my 95-year-old uncle until his passing. After that there was nothing holding us to Fremont and we moved to Aptos. Three years later due to a job change ...Expand for more
for Steve, we had to leave our beach house and moved to Discovery Bay to be closer to the kids/grandkids. Just this year, November 2022, we moved to what should be our final move, to Rio Vista. We are living our best life in a 55+ active adult community.
Military
Didn't see much of the world, but it was an experience. I was a Chinese Linguist. I was stationed in Texas twice, in Massachusetts for a year working an international switchboard at Hansom Air Base, and attended The Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. That I could handle! My youngest son has followed in my footsteps and joined the Air Force. He is currently servicing overseas, coming home next month. Then he will be off to Korea for a year.
