Barbara's Story
I left Delaware and moved to Texas in 1969. I married David Haring in January of 1980. We have two children, Andrea (43) who graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Theater degree in 2004, is married and lives in Jackson, ME, where she and her husband, Jamey, own an Airbnb cabin. She and her husband have a son, Anderson, who is 6. And Sean (41) who owns an A/C and heating company. He has three beautiful children. Our grandson Skyy is 14, granddaughter Jaiden is 12, and little grandson Azure is 3. I worked for Shell Oil Company for 24 years and took early retirement in July of 1999. I love being retired. of which is singing (I sing with a Civic Chorale) and the piano (something I've wanted to learn my whole life), I've found some truth to you're only as old as you think you are. Our plans are to eventually to leave Texas possibly for the mountains of West Virginia. It was Colorado at first but with Andrea moving from Colorado to Maine and Sean wanting to stay in Texas, we decided to move east to the Appalachians rather than west to the Rockies. Since I am an Appalachian girl, this works for me in many ways. I love that part of the country and it puts me closer to my sisters (Bev who lives in West Virginia and Beth who winters in Florida but returns to Delaware in the summer).
