Barbara's Story
Life
July 15, 2006 My life? " What a long, strange trip it's been". I've been married for 25 years to my first and only husband, and we have three kids-a girl, currently age 22, a boy, currently age 20, and another girl, currently age 17. The oldest two kids are "special"- the oldest was born with Down Syndrome, and is also autistic. She has lived in a group home for the last six years. The boy is "just" autistic! He graduated from high school and works part-time. The youngest is on the other end of the spectrum!! She currently ranks number 5 in her class and is a dedicated student. I also have two cats and two Basset Hounds.

ary/preschoolers, and now work as a psychotherapist. My favorite job was working in an inner city emergency room for ten years. (No, it's NOT like the show "ER"!!).
I've traveled some, mostly in the US, and my favorite place (so far!) is San Francisco. I hope to go to Europe before I die.
There are many people in my class about whom I think often, including Esther Wheeler, Maude McGovern, and SO many others! If anyone knows where they are, I'd love to know.
If anyone else out there works in the mental health field, I'd love to hear from you. Funny; I left Watertown High to attend Boston University, majoring in journalism. I disliked both the university and the major. Go figure!
